The Bear Hotel is one of England’s oldest coaching inns and has been the focus of hospitality since 1464 in the quintessentially English market town of Hungerford, in the Royal County of Berkshire. We are situated in the Heart of the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The Bear Hotel has thirty-nine individually designed bedrooms, award-winning restaurant and bar, conference and wedding facilities with private entrance, and gardens set on the banks of the River Dunn. The Bear even has its own small island! Whilst retaining it’s olde world charm, it has free WIFI, flat screen TVs in all bedrooms and parking for over 50 cars.

By Road:
M4, motorway Junction 14 is 10 minutes away by car. Leave motorway signed Hungerford A338. Follow this for 3 miles until the T-Junction with the A4. Turn right and continue to follow the Hungerford sign. Take the first exit at the mini roundabout. After approximately 400 yards, you reach another mini-roundabout. Go straight over and The Bear is on the left.

By Public Transport:
Hungerford Railway station, which has a main line to London Paddington, is 5 minutes walk from the Hotel. There are also a number of National Express stopping points in the town, one only 100 yards from the hotel.
