- CORN EXCHANGE NEWBURY
One of the South East's most dynamic arts and entertainment organisations, the Corn Exchange presents and produces some of the best UK and international artists and companies. As well as supporting the development of new work, commissioning and incorporating resident companies the building also features a full time cinema showing the best of arthouse, independent and British films every day, together with occasional blockbusters and family films.
Each year they produce a hugely popular annual pantomime attended by 21,000 from across West Berkshire and beyond, as well as managing a large scale outdoors events programme, and running a flourishing programme of participatory workshops and courses for people of all ages and abilities from their Learning Centre also in the Market Place.
Housed in the building’s foyer is a vibrant and informal Kitchen & Bar serving a selection of dishes ranging from light bites to main meals and desserts. Visit www.cornexchangenew.com/kitchen for menus and to book a table.
Situated in a prestigious Grade II listed building in the historic market place and it is one of the iconic Newbury landmarks. Corn Exchange Newbury started trading in 1861 but was soon being used as a community venue in the 20th Century as corn trading declined. In 2018, the organisation will celebrate 25 years since the building became an arts centre.
